Advances in military weapons and sensors accuracy have exposed a weakness in the ability of range instrumentation to satisfy the need for developers, operators and testers to determine the accuracy of systems for a reasonable cost and within the current range infrastructure.
J3S provides solutions to program managers, range operators, and training commands by providing high quality instrumentation in a well understood geolocation environment. The J3S systems developed for ocean ranges are based on GPS located buoys including the patented TARPON buoy which provides a robust platform for sensors. The TARPON is an autonomous, self navigating buoy that can transit to commanded locations, keep station, and collect and transmit data for processing. J3S customizes the sensor suite, data collection, communications, buoy propulsion and data processing systems to provide the optimum system solution to meet the unique requirements of each customer.
