Recently, several members of the company lead an effort to rapidly refresh a test system for flight hardware. The flight hardware consists of a suite of equipment installed throughout the vehicle to add telemetry, tracking and destruct functions. The flight hardware includes over 400 individual device interface points. The test system designed by J3S personnel performs the system level acceptance test required prior to flight hardware installation and operation.
The refresh included porting the existing test requirements (approximately 20,000 individual test steps) to XML. Several late design changes in the flight test hardware were easily accommodated via changes to the XML test requirements rather than to test system software or hardware.
J3S personnel supported the system design from requirements through factory acceptance and initial operations.
